Grateful for the Journey

Hola Familia, Esta semana fue una muy muy interesante. The first thing that happened was quite a surprise was that my companion got changed again. I am now with Elder Neira who is from Peru. Has 16 months in the mission. He is pretty cool. I now get to finish my training as Zone Leader which is great. He is a hard worker so that is awesome he should help me learn a lot. He has a couple months more as Zone Leader so that should help. This week was awesome to have President Uceda. He is so powerful. He taught us so much about how we can be better here in the mission. We also had Leadership Council with him on Sunday which was really awesome. he told us about edifying Zion and how we have to work with the members. He taught me a lot. It was great to here. This week I am going to have Elder Condori send you guys a letter from me so I will tell you more in the letter. But it really was awesome. We do have some great investigators right now. We had a wonderful lesson with a family this week about the restoration. It was super cool. The last thing that happened was I had a wonderful interview with President Torres. He really is such a great man. He helped me a lot. I am so grateful that I am serving here in this mission. I am so grateful for all the persons that I have been able to work with. I am so grateful for the journey and for all that we learn in our Journeys. An Elder shared with me a talk called Lessons Learned from Liberty Jail by Elder Holland. It is a super great talk. Elder L is the other missionary from Brighton. He is super awesome. I played basketball with him on Tuesdays with N G! We were able to talk a little bit on Wednesday. I also was able to talk with Elder B. He is doing pretty good!! I am so grateful that I got to be his companion. Thank you family for all that you guys do for me. Gracias por su amor!!! Tengan una buena semana. Con Amor Elder Duzett

He is Risen!!

Hola Familia, Muchas gracias por el correo y por su amor y apoyo. Sounds like you guys had a pretty good week. Vernal and Flaming Gorge sounds pretty awesome. I remember when we went there for young mens. That was a great trip! Wow time flies by quickly. We had a pretty great Easter here. Sunday there was a conference in all of Ecuador. We had a transmission from Salt Lake in which Elder Nash, Elder Holland and Elder Scott all talked. It was so awesome to see Elder Holland speaking Spanish. He spoke a little in Spanish without a translator but he gave most of his talk in English but he testified in the end in Spanish. It was so awesome. Elder Scott gave and amazing talk on the savior. It really was a great great conference. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be here in Ecuador. I am learning so much and I know I have so very much to learn. This week we will have the great opportunity to have Presidente Uceda the Area president come visit the mission. On Wednesday we are going to have a capacitacion with him. We also have Leadership Council in the morning with him. It should be super awesome. I am excited to learn. This week we had three investigators go to church that have baptismal dates. We are super happy about that. They are all pretty excited about the gospel which is super awesome. That is so awesome that Hermana M spoke in church. That is a pretty awesome step for a convert. Sorry I have not sent any pictures lately. This sector is a little bit more dangerous so I have not been carrying my camera around and so I have not been able to take any good pictures but I promise next week I will send fotos. I am so grateful for the mission and the chance we have to progress in this life. I know that we are here to progress. I know that this church is true. I know that Christ lives, that he is risen. I am so grateful for that and for what that means to us. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ all mankind may be saved. I am so grateful for that and for the opportunity that I have to help others know that. Well family I love you all so much and I hope you all have a wonderful wonderful week!! I pray for you all always!! Con Amor Elder Duzett

Crazy Week!!

Hola Familia, Espero que todos estén muy muy bien. Sounds like everybody is pretty busy. That is good!! Also tell Isaac congrats!! That is so awesome that he is going to Argentina. He is going to be able to learn some spanish!!! Wow Spencer has way too little time left!!! Well here I am doing pretty great. This week has been a pretty crazy week. The biggest news is I have a new companion! Elder Rodriguez got transferred today. He was pretty awesome kind of crazy but awesome. My new companion is named Elder Serpa. He is from Lima, Peru. He has the same time in the mission as I do! He is pretty awesome he was in my Zone in Santa Rosa when I was in Pasaje. I am training him because he is a new Zone Leader which is super stressful because I have super little time as Zone Leader and I feel like I am the one that needs the training but it is all good. Heavenly Father will help me. This week was also strange because one of the missionaries in my Zone got sick with his appendix and was in the Hospital so we had to spend some time in the Hospital with him. He is all good now. Which is awesome. I got to see and talk to President a little while we were waiting in the Hospital. That was pretty cool. This week I am hoping for a semana mas tranquila. I am excited to help this ward more. Hopefully I can work in the way that Heavenly Father has prepared so we can receive his help to find more people here. We are low on investigators but I know that this week we are going to find many!! Well I love you all so much and I am so grateful for all that you do for me. That will be awesome to get a package with new shirts!! I really do need them. Something that I would like in the package is some fruit and cream oatmeal, the one we always eat for breakfast!! That would be super awesome!! Bueno, les amo muchisimo!! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!! Hopefully next week I will have some cool experiences to share!! I love you all and miss you all!! Conferencia General

Hola Familia,

Esta conferencia fue excelente! The conference was amazing!!! The talks were so great. I loved the talk by Elder Oaks it was super great!! I really loved the talk by Presidente Monson about showing more love. It was really great and it gave me a lot of animo to love all the people here more! I loved the talk by Elder Ballard about seguimiento (followup). It was awesome and helped me realize more and more the importance of seguimiento here in the mission. It really is so so important. Elder Anderson also gave an excelente excelente talk. I am so happy that I got to see the conference well most of it. We missed and hour due to a power outage but it is all good. I am going to have to go back and read all of the talks again because they were all so great and great learning points! I was able to learn so much. I am so grateful for the opportunity that have to be serving here in this mission. This week we are happy to have had a baptism. His name is J and he got baptized on friday and confirmed. He is 16 and has been waiting for 2 months to get baptized due to drugs!! There are a lot of problems with drugs in our sector. Satan really is working harder and harder that just means we have got to work harder and harder!! I know that I can do a better job working harder and harder. I really loved how the Prophet told us that he hopes we can all be better!! It was a short but so powerful sentence!!! I am so grateful for the atonement of Christ that gives us the chance to always be better and better. I know that this church is true and that we have a Prophet and 12 apostles that have been called of God. I know that this is Christ's church. I know people are always attacking and attacking but I know that Christ lives and loves each and everyone of us and that this is his Church! It does not matter what people say because it is not what I hear but what I feel. I know that what I felt in the conferencia was so strong and great! I was reading in1nefi 3 and 4 applying it to missionary work and what type of missionaries should we be, like Nefi y Sam o Laman y Lemuel. I know I should never murmur although things sometimes are tough but Dad you sent me something super awesome in my dearelder that we should never let perfection get in the way of progress. I am so grateful for progress. I hope we can all keep progressing. Thank you all so much for you love and support. I hope that Ali had a wonderul time in Cali!! Dad please send my best regards to our neighbors to Brother Featherstone and to Brother Ed. They are great great men and I am so grateful to have had such great ward members and neighbors. Well I hope that you all have a wonderful wonderful week. I love you all so so much!!!

Con Amor,

14 Months!!

Hola Familia!!!! Espero que todos esten muy bien alli!! This week was pretty good!! We are happy to have had 2 baptisms this Saturday. 2 young women. They are both pretty cool. One of them is named J. She is the older sister of the kid we baptized last week. The other is named D. She is really cool. She has a strong testimony which is great because before she did not really believe in God. Now she does and is doing great. I was very happy to receive like five dear elders this week. They were exactly what I needed to hear. I am so grateful to be here working in the work of the Lord. My zone is pretty small. There are only 14 of us but it is all good. There are only 2 hermanas. Not really to much happened this week. In one of my dearelders Dad you talked about a 5x5x5 program. They don`t use it here but I would love to learn about it to help us progress here in this stake. Mom thank you so much for the email. I am so excited for general conference. That is so awesome that Brother Ridd is speaking. I am really excited because this conference we get to watch all 5 sessions!!! Yeah!!! I am really excited to be spiritually fed and charge the spiritual batteries a little bit. I am so grateful for all that I am learning
here in the mission and all the debilidades that are brought out here in the mission. I am trying to be a better missionary every day. Hopefully this week we will see some great progress here in this zone. Well I love you all so much. I hope that Ali had a great time in Cali!! Saludos a todos!!! I love you all so much!!! Con Amor Elder Duzett
