A Week of Miracles!! One Year In the Mission!!

Hola Familia!!!! This week was pretty great!!!! We were able to see many miracles this week. The miracles started Monday after writing. Elder Barney and I went to visit the Dacto Family to get the paperwork of the Baptisms signed and such and when we got there the whole family was there. Joel is one of the grandkids that did not get baptized last week because he did not have permission from his mom! When we got there Joel and his parents and everyone was there. We started talking a little bit and after a little bit we started talking about the Baptism. The spirit was super super strong it was amazing. And then Papí Segundo (Hermano Segundo but he told us to call him papí) bore his testimony. When the spirit was so strong the mom could not say no, so Joel got permission to get baptized, then right after one of the sons of Hermano Segundo, well basically adopted son, he lives with them and everything and is super awesome. His name is Walter. He was married to one of their daughters but she left him and they took him in as their son, said he wanted to get baptized too on saturday. We had not really taught him much because he works in the mine but he had gone to church two times and did not really want to get baptized before, he always told us not now later, but with the spirit he said that he wanted to get baptized with Joel saturday. So we were going to have 1 baptism on Saturday but it turns out we had 3!!!!!!!! It was an amazing week. Then yesterday my companion and I had another amazing, amazing experience. We went to visit the Dacto family again because we are working with Hermana Janina, the Mom of Wesley and the Legal guardian of almost all of the other young men that got baptized last week. When we got there only Walter and Hermana Janina who is the Daughter of Hermano Segundo and Hermana Dacto. So we told her we wanted to watch a video with her. We sat and watched all of the youth videos in the Stand Ye in Holy Places video. She loved the video with the young women walking to the temple. We talked about temples and eternal families, the spirit was unreal. Hermana Janina had not wanted to accept to get baptized before but through that video she gladly excepted to get baptized on the 8th of Feb. We are so happy. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. I am so grateful for all that I get feel on my mission. This week we are going to have 1 baptism. Here name is Madeleine Polacia. She is 15 and her dad is a member but in Guayaquil. We found her contacting. She is super awesome and has a great testimony. The young womens president has helped us out greatly with her as she already acts like just another of the young women. It is super awesome. We are excited to keep working and working to find more and more people. Well my companion is super super awesome. Top notch. He is humble and hard working and super tall!!! It is super fun we are working pretty great together, we put some pretty high goals this week but I know that we will be able to acomplish them.

Well I hope you all had a great week. With these experiences my testimony has grown stronger of eternal famlies. I know that we can be together forever. Esta bien porque todovia somos una familia. A young man said that in one of the youth videos. I loved it. I know that Grandpa is still helpin me out everyday. He is teaching me how to build, (missionary programs)!!!! Pretty sweet. Well I hope that everyone is doing amazing. Mom to answer your questions we do the training out of a manual named My First 12 Weeks which is a great program that uses Preach My Gospel to train. Well we do walk quite a bit because the Dacto Family lives pretty far a way but it is all good!!! It is super awesome. Well I love you all greatly greatly!!! I pray for you all often!!!! I hope all have a great week. Congrats to Heather!!! Everybody must runnin wild up there with all them babies but sounds pretty great to me!!! Well I love you all Greatly!!!! Today we studied the story of the 2000 stripling worriors but at a different angle. We talked about how they worked in unity with the other armies of Moroni and how nothing would not have worked without this unity. It was pretty awesome. I know that we have to work in unity to get the things done that we need to in this life. I am so grateful for the Unity that our family has. It is my greatest blessing!! Love You all!!

A New Companion and 6 Baptisms!!

Hola Familia, esta semana ha sido una semana de muchas cosas bien especiales. This week has been pretty great. Friday was a super great night becuase we were able to have 6 baptisms. Six of the grandkids of Hermano Segundo got baptized. They we super super happy.  It was just awesome. They all asked me to baptize them which was a pretty amazing experience for me. Iam so grateful for the experience that I have to be here in the mission. I am so grateful for everything that I get to learn. Another thing that happened today is my companion Elder Ulloa got transfered. My new companion is Elder Barney from Draper, Utah. He is a Utah fan!!!! He is super awesome. He has 3 weeks here in the mission field. I am training which is always a great blessing because I get to learn so much. I am so grateful to hear that you all are doing so great. You guys are just straight up awesome!! You guys are the greatest family that I could ever have wished for. I love you all greatly. This week will be great. We are going to have a baptism on friday. We have a young man named Jimy Cortez who is 16 that is going to get baptized on saturday. He is a super sweet black kid!!! He has gone to church 3 times and is ready. It will be an awesome week. Hopefully we will be able to find a whole bunch more people. This week was super awesome to becuase I got my other package from christmas on tuesday with a huge stack of letter!! Bananas, bananas, bananas!!

Familia, espero que todos tuvieron una semana excelente. I hope that all are great through all of the busy activities. It sounds like you are all super busy. I hope that you all are having success. I have heard that it is super cold there. All the people here talk about how cold it is the U.S, how cold is it there. I hope not too cold. It has been pretty hot here this past week. The rainy season has not hit yet but it did rain a couple of days during this week. We had a pretty good week. We were able to bring 9 people to church, we were hoping for more but we are really grateful for the great poeple that could go. We are super happy for this friday because we are going to have 5 baptisms of the grandsons of Hermano Segundo Dacto. We are super happy for them because they really are a great family. We are still working with the mom of some of the grandchildren. She is basically the mom of all of them but we need to help her build a testimomy. We are thinking about watching Joseph Smith, the Profet of the Restoration with her. We will see. I know that the lord is giong to help her get a testimony because she a really great person. We are also super happy because we have and investigator named Jimy who went to church for the second time yesterday and is going to get baptized on the 25th. He is super sweet. This week we really need to focus on finding new investigators so we can build a stronger program, but I know that the Lord will help us this week. I know that I can be a better missionary, sometimes I feel like there is so much to improve on but I know that the Lord will help me to overcome my disabilities. I know that Heavenly Father is always there to help us out in whatever situation. Well I better go so I can wash my clothes. Here we wash them by hand to sometimes it takes time but I love you all so much. I am so grateful for the example that all of you guys are to me. You guys always give me strength. I am so grateful for your strong testimonies. I hope that you all have a wonderful week, full of great experiences. I pray for you all everyday. I hope that I can continue to be a better representative of our family and our Lord and Savior Jesuscrist everyday. I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. I know that he lives and loves us. Happy 2014!!

Hola Familia!! I hope that you have all had a wonderful week. This week was pretty great week. I got one of my packages this week. I got the big one with the christmas tree and the christmas music. The ties are super awesome and the socks are super comfortable. I loved the pictures of everyone. It was the best christmas gifts that I could recieve. Thank you all so very much for the package. It was awesome. I got it on my birthday so that was super great. I also got a package from Grandma Duzett. I was super happy about that. I hope that all of you are great. I hope that you have all had a wonderful week. I hope that you all had a great week at school. This week we had a pretty great week here. We are having some sucess. With the family of Hermano Segundo. 5 of his grandkids have baptismal dates now and we are working with all of them. They all went to church yesterday which was super awesome. We had 14 investigators in church which was pretty great. We are progressing here. I hope that we can keep progressing to help that branch here. Hermano Andres received the Priesthood yesterday which was awesome. Has already ready half of Doctrine and Covenants. He is super awesome. He fasted yesterday and everything. Hopefully he will keep progressing at that rate so he can help out the rama. Hermano Segundo was out of town so he didn´t recieve it yet but this week he will get it. Well we were also able to find more people which is pretty awesome. I know that his week will be even better. I hope that we can keep progressing with our investigators and find a bunch of more investigators. Well that is pretty much all that happened. I did not get whipped for my birthday. It was all good We were in the house at 6 but it was all good. I washed my clothes! Well tell cath and james congrats from me. The baby looks great. Thank you for all that you do for me.
